Konstantin von Tischendorf discovered what became known as the Codex Sinaiticus in St. Catherine's Monastery at Mount Sinai (Egypt) in 1844. This ancient manuscript dates back to the 4th century and includes large portions of Old Testament in Greek and the entire Greek New Testament text.
