The carriage of goods by sea is a transaction that involves several stakeholders that is the carrier, the shipper, the buyer (consignee), other subsidiaries (insurance companies and banks) and agents of the various parties. Each of these stakeholders has an interest in the contract and the law protects these interests by imposing obligations on the parties. It is assume that, the protection afforded to stakeholders by Cameroonian legislation is largely ineffective, inefficient and ambiguous. Thus, this masterpiece has as objective the determination of the efficiency and effectiveness of the law regulating the protection of stakeholders in contracts of carriage of goods by sea in Cameroon. In the course of finding, it was discovered that the protection afforded to stakeholders is ineffective and inefficient because of the ignorance on the part of stakeholders on their rights, the inexistence of an official translation of the CEMAC Merchant Shipping Code in English amongst others. This masterpiece concludes by recommending among other things the translation of the CEMAC Code to English, sensitization of stakeholders on their rights and obligations provided by law and so on.
