I recruited Dr. Malonza and Dr. Bwong upon my return in 2005 to lead herpetological workshops for the local people in the Tsavo region. I was so fortunate that they agreed, as you cannot find two people more passionate and knowledgeable about the herpetofauna of Kenya. This is the first truly Kenyan book combining information on the amphibians and reptiles found in Kenya, providing both visitors to the country and Kenyans with one comprehensive field guide. The photos and range information will assist readers with identification and the natural history information will help to generate a deeper understanding and appreciation of this often maligned and misunderstood group of animals.
